Oregon Drone/UAS/UAV Training and Lessons
Southern Oregon Drone has partnered with UAV Coach to provide a Drone Pilot Ground Course (teaser video above), which will teach you everything you need to know before taking the FAA Part 107 Written Exam to obtain your Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate. This license is a federal requirement that is needed before flying a drone for commercial purposes. In other words, you will need to pass that test in order to get paid flying a drone, or get paid for any content that you have created by flying a drone. Over 20,000 students have enrolled in the course, and have gone on to make millions of dollars by flying drones. And just case you were skeptical (we were at first when they approached us about partnering), the program has a 99% pass rate, and if you DON'T pass your test, they will refund all your money AND reimburse you for the testing fee. Check it out!
This course is also great for anyone who is just wanting to become familiar with the FAA's recreational drone flying rules, which must be adhered to when flying a drone recreationally or for fun.
Southern Oregon Drone is not currently providing in-person drone flight training due to the fact that our schedule is too packed these days. We look forward to offering this service again soon, so if you are interested, please fill out the contact form below and we will let you know if we are planning to provide drone flight training services soon.

While we are at it, are you looking for a capable starter drone?
Enter DJI Mavic Mini
The reason I bring this up is because we receive a lot of responses from this page asking us which drone to buy. Well, this is the one. The DJI Mavic Mini is an impressive combination of build quality, durability, portability, flight time, ease of use, and video quality. It makes a great first drone, but it also packs a punch with its powerful features. Here's a list of highlights:
Please do check it out - you will not be disappointed.
- 30 minutes of flight time per battery
- Fly up to 2.5 (yes, two and a half) miles away
- 2.5K video resolution
- Photos up to 12MP
- Folds up into compact cube so you can throw it in your backpack. No heavy, bulky, expensive cases!
